Our camp, the Identi-T Farm, will act as a unique and unexpected “City Concierge” service, a place to welcome and inspire people taking part in the Burning Man experience. We will provide a variety of activities based around the central “Concierge Theme”. Camp members dressed in deconstructed Concierge uniforms will guide visitors toward the oasis of activities on offer.

Activities will all take place inside our new 30 foot dome, where people can relax, seek some shade, and enjoy a respite from the bustle of metropolitan life.
Decorated in the spirit of a luxury hotel lobby, visitors can lounge on couches and pillows, sip refreshments from our Iced Tea Bar, soak up the simple pleasures of our Spa, all while enjoying our other offerings. We will construct a large and visible handcrafted sign. We will also build our own solar power generator to power up LED lights and other energy needs.

Our main offerings will include:

- A Playa-Name-Giving Service: whether for true first-timers or those who have wandered by the Playa for years without their own Playa name, we can assist. Based upon interview, discussion and our powers of empathy, camp members will endeavor to understand the deeper sense or spirit of the individual before us, and reveal their true name within. Any potential name is always discussed and ultimately agreed upon by a quorum of at least three people before being chosen. Once chosen, a short ceremony is performed by our very own Master of Ceremonies, a personalized badge is hand-drawn by our resident artists and offered to the person, who then signs or draws their newly-acquired Playa Identity in our Book of Names.

- Flavour-of-the-day cold Iced Tea: as part of our hospitality we will be offering delicious flavored iced teas to quench the thirst, all served from a T-shaped bar structure (to be constructed on site).

- A beauty-spa corner: for perfect pampering, featuring magical potions, lotions, vinegar sprays, baby wipes face painting and our famous hand massages.

- Tarot Card Readings: our resident Witch Doctor will unveil the wisdom in the symbols.

- Yoga and meditation: guided by experienced professionals.

- Other assorted silliness decided on a whim and announced on our whiteboard.

Our History:

As a group of multi-year burners, some attending since 2005, we have steadily grown in our commitment to the Black Rock City community, and are keen to take the step of becoming a fully-fledged official camp this year. Our membership of around 30 plus people includes an eclectic and diverse crew from the US, Europe, South America and Asia, with ages ranging from early 20’s to mid-40’s.

We have realized through the activities we have created over the past years, that we most enjoy creating a personal interaction between us as group and the playa-at-large. In 2008 we created the American Dream Pitstop Team, offering a full-service pitstop to bike riders and pedestrians, including everything from massages, bike maintenance, refreshments and other assorted silliness. In 2009 we evolved our approach and offered a Playa-naming service which drew considerable interest from those who saw it in the activities list, as well as by word of mouth and from many passers-by. Over the course of the week names were given in individual ceremonies to well over a hundred happy burners. It proved to be a wonderful means to connect with many people, and by getting to know them we were able to find names that seemed to resonate well. Many were visibly moved.

This year, in line with the theme of Metropolis, we wish to build on our experience of offering services to our beloved community, but this time in a style befitting big city life.
